The Secret to Ageless Skin is in Your Sunscreen
BeautySummer may be over, but the sun doesn’t stop shining thankfully! Another reminder that you need to have a daily sunscreen ritual for lifelong beautiful skin. When I was younger, I always struggled to find a decent product with SPF. These days that’s not an issue, but with so many options it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all your choices.
Everyone needs sunscreen because it can help prevent skin cancer by protecting you from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays. Anyone can get skin cancer, regardless of age, gender or race. In fact, it’s estimated that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. Sunscreen helps you check two boxes preventing skin cancer and of course keeps your skin looking healthy.
I’ve personally used all three of these products below and give my stamp of approval. Here are my top picks:
IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination with SPF 50+
Developed with plastic surgeons, CC+ Cream Illumination with SPF 50+ works beautifully as your full-coverage foundation, hydrating anti-aging serum, and SPF 50+ physical sunscreen, plus my favorite part is it has micronized light-reflecting pigments which give you glowing skin without glitter or shimmer! This color correcting cream provides clinically tested hydration while diffusing the appearance of skin imperfections.
It’s also infused with hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and vitamins. I’ve been using this CC cream for several years and a little goes a long way. My tube lasts about six months, and for under $40 bucks it’s definitely worth a try. It even made Vogue’s list of top 15 foundations. It won’t give you the coverage of a foundation in my opinion, but will give you a glow, sunscreen, and a light base to build on.
Instant Mineral SPF 45
This translucent, matte mineral powder provides on-the-go, broad-spectrum, Instant Mineral SPF 45 UVA/UVB sun protection in a convenient brush-on formula. It helps absorb excess oil, blur the look of imperfections and pores, and helps set your makeup. It also includes Vitamins A, C and E. I keep mine in the car to touch up my forehead and the tops of my hands when I’m driving. Perfect for those who have an oily complexion. And for $30 bucks it’s not going to break the bank.
